On day 1, Tulip Garden enthralls record number of over 4500 visitors with just 25 % bloom | KNO

Srinagar, Mar 25 (KNO): The famous Tulip garden in the foothills of Zabarwan mountains overlooking famous Dal Lake in Srinagar witnessed the arrival of a record number of 4533 visitors on day one amid just 25 per cent flower bloom. Asia’s largest Tulip garden that is spread over 35 acres of land attracted a large number of guests on the day-one of its opening. Deputy Director Floriculture Ikhlas Shayiq while speaking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that on the first day of opening of Tulip garden,  4533 visitors visited the garden which is a record if figures are compared to last few years. While sharing the break-up of today’s footfall at the garden, Shayiq said: “3200 tourists were from the domestic circuit while three were foreigners and the rest were the locals from various parts of valley.”  He further said that after the beauty of the garden was exhibited and showcased in different promotional programmes by the Government and Tourism Department of Kashmir, the efforts have surely yielded the results. “Today we have had a record number of visitors first day of the opening of the famous garden. We expect that the number will rise in the coming days,” he said. He said the department is all set to host the guests, and amid Covid-19 pandemic. “We have put all Covid-19 SoPs and guidelines in place, and no visitor will be allowed in the park without facemask, and before entering the garden visitors will have to undergo thermal scanning,” Shayiq said, adding that “We have kept the sign boards all around the garden, sensitizing people about the already in place Covid-19 Sops and guidelines. We request all the visitors who intend to visit the Tulip garden to kindly follow Covid-19 Sops and guidelines”, he said—(KNO)
